Join to apply for the Assistant, Custom Declaration role at DHL Global Forwarding .

We are looking for an experienced specialist in the Custom Declaration field to join us. This role requires a passionate individual with experience in export and import customs declarations.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Collect and submit customs declaration documents (K1, K2, K3, K8, K9) for assessment at customs offices (Wesport, Northport, PKFZ, Southport).
  • Upload required documents into the customs system (myCIES) for clearance approval and follow up on inquiry statuses for timely clearance.
  • Process duty and tax payments at Wisma Kastam.
  • Validate customs paperwork and perform truck seal and unseal activities.
  • Perform customs assessments and coordinate with other government agencies (MAQIS, Wildlife Dept, Pharmacy Dept, Health Dept, KDN, SIRIM, etc.).
  • Coordinate and assist with cargo examination / inspection activities.
  • Update the status of paperwork and queries from customs in a timely manner.
  • Ensure related customs documents (COR / CRD) are uploaded in CW1 edocs upon customs clearance completion.
  • Assist with submitting customs appointment letter applications and follow-up on approvals.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests such as revision approvals, checking import / export requirements, submitting cancellation forms, and request letters to customs.
  • Follow up closely on shipments with Customs, PKFZ, Westport, Northport, Southport, etc.
  • Attend loading / unloading shipments at warehouses or ports.
  • Process Delivery Order (DO) payments at CFS warehouses.
  • Assist in collecting Bills of Lading (BL) and sending documents.
  • Clear containers at customs and monitor export clearance status according to booking plans.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO / EMS requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate manager.
  • Support the development and improvement of the CDZ process via electronic solutions.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics, with exposure to customs declaration processes.
  • Strong negotiation skills, stakeholder management, and knowledge of customs declaration procedures.
  • Preferably experience in customs clearance within freight forwarding companies.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including night shifts and public holidays, with flexible working hours.
  • This position is based in Port Klang, Selangor.
