Overview
The Data Center Engineer is responsible for managing and executing the commissioning process of data center projects—from pre-commissioning through to final handover. The role ensures all mechanical / electrical, and control systems operate according to design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead or support commissioning activities as part of the Commissioning Management (CxM) or Commissioning Team (CxT).
- Plan, manage, and execute commissioning procedures, schedules, and documentation for data center systems (MEP, controls, and supporting infrastructure).
- Perform pre-functional checks, functional performance testing, and integrated system testing.
- Review system designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet commissioning and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with design, construction, and client teams to align commissioning deliverables with project milestones.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and troubleshoot technical issues during the commissioning process.
- Ensure all systems comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Prepare test reports, checklists, and commissioning documentation for submission and client approval.
- Support post-commissioning evaluations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide technical support, training, and guidance to site teams and contractors.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide progress updates and address commissioning-related concerns.
- Ensure compliance with company quality management procedures and safety protocols.
- Attend or be stationed at site locations (locally or overseas) based on project requirements.
- Assist with engineering documentation and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in commissioning, design consultancy, and construction environments.Hands-on experience with fire protection systems and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems.Familiarity with M&E design, installation, and testing processes preferredAble to work independently on-site and manage multiple priorities.Willing to travel or be based at project sites for short- or long-term durations.#J-18808-Ljbffr
