Penang International Dental College (PIDC) is looking for a dedicated Matron (Dental Therapist Manager) to lead our clinical support team and uphold the standards that shape future dental professionals.

Role Description

The Matron (Dental Therapist Manager) will oversee the daily operations of the polyclinic by supervising Dental Surgery Assistants, Clinical Assistants, and General Assistants. This role ensures staff discipline, proper deployment, and efficient workflow across all clinical areas.

The Matron will also coordinate infection control procedures, manage documentation for audits and MOH reporting, support Heads of Department in staff performance reviews, and coordinate distribution of clinical consumables and instruments.

This is a full-time, on-site role requiring consistent coordination with the deputy dean, dean, and various clinical departments.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Certificate in Dental Therapy or related field
• Experience supervising clinical support staff in a dental or healthcare setting (advantageous)
• Knowledge of infection control, sterilisation standards, and clinic operations
• Strong leadership skills with an ability to uphold discipline fairly and firmly
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Organised, meticulous, and able to manage multiple tasks in a high-demand clinical environment
• Ability to work collaboratively with academic, administrative, and clinical teams
• Familiarity with documentation, audit processes, and reporting requirements
