Assistant Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the Maintenance Manager in ensuring the efficient operation, safety, and compliance of all building systems and facilities across multiple sites, including Thermae Bath Spa and The Gainsborough Bath Spa. This role involves supervising maintenance activities, coordinating planned and reactive works, and managing contractors to maintain high standards of service and guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing preventative and reactive maintenance across both sites.
  • Supervise and support the maintenance team, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, spa-specific equipment) for optimal performance.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, compliance checks, and asset management.
  • Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide technical support during emergencies and ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in building maintenance or facilities management, ideally in hospitality or spa environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across different locations.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
