Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager (Fit-Out) to oversee and lead the successful execution of retail store renovations and interior fit-out projects. This role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and in-depth knowledge of construction and M&E coordination. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing retail projects within shopping malls and commercial environments.

Candidates who are able to start work immediately will be given priority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end renovation of retail shops, including compiling required documentation, liaising with mall management and contractors, and submitting relevant applications (insurance, work permits, electricity, etc.).
  • Administer tendering processes, follow up on drawing requisitions, and ensure timely project execution according to approved renovation schedules.
  • Procure interior fixtures and manage logistics to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to site.
  • Consolidate project reports for management review with a focus on cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets and capital expenditures to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Oversee the rectification of defects post-renovation and support ongoing maintenance of existing outlets.
  • Coordinate and supervise Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure all works comply with local regulations, mall guidelines, safety, and quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Education : Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in managing interior fit-out projects, especially in retail chains or mall environments.
  • Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of construction methods, interior finishing, materials, M&E systems, and contract administration.
  • Tools : Proficiency in project management and design tools such as AutoCAD , Microsoft Project , and other relevant software.
  • Leadership : Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams, external vendors, and contractors.
  • Communication : Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Language Requirements : Fluent in English , Bahasa Malaysia , Mandarin , and other local dialects.
