Job description

Responsibilities

  • Manage and run IT audit engagements from planning to execution, ensuring adherence to audit standards, timelines, and objectives.
  • Utilize data analytics methodologies and tools to analyze large datasets, identify trends, anomalies, and potential areas of risk within IT systems and processes.
  • Develop and implement data-driven audit approaches to enhance audit efficiency, effectiveness, and coverage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, finance, and operations to understand business processes, systems, and controls.
  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of IT controls, assess control deficiencies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to IT auditing and data analytics.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional development and growth.
  • Prepare clear and concise audit reports, communicating findings, recommendations, and action plans to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Partner with external auditors and regulatory bodies as necessary, facilitating audits and providing support during compliance reviews.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall effectiveness of the audit function and supporting organizational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (CISA, CISSP, CIA, etc.) is preferred.
  • More than 7 years of experience in IT audit, risk management, or related field, with a focus on data analytics and technology-driven audit methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks, industry standards (e.g., COBIT, ITIL), and regulatory requirements (e.g., RMIT, ISO 27001, SOX, GDPR, PCI DSS).
  • Solid grasp of IT infrastructure, systems development lifecycle, cybersecurity principles, and emerging technologies (e.g., cloud computing, AI / ML, blockchain).
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful insights to support decision‑making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying abreast of industry best practices and advancements in IT auditing and data analytics.
