We are currently seeking a replacement for a Payroll Specialist for Oceania portfolio. The incumbent will ensure timely and accurate payroll for employees primarily in Australia, and future inclusion of New Zealand. This role supports the local Employee Services (ES) team, manages payroll-related financials in the ERP system, and contributes to continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities :
- Provide HR administrative support to the local ES team.
- Process payroll financial data into the ERP system accurately and on time.
- Maintain and update payroll data for each cycle.
- Reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Upload EFT payment files to Citibank.
- Conduct end-of-month (EOM) checks to validate payroll totals and tax obligations.
- Manage year-end processing, ensuring STP submissions include FBT data before finalization with tax authorities.
- Calculate and deduct employee contributions (., health fund premiums).
- Submit social security filings punctually to local authorities.
- Support HR with : Banking verificationsEarnings statementsAd hoc reporting requests
- Provide cash forecasting for external payments to the Finance Manager.
- Perform EOM reconciliations for Finance and Tax teams.
- Prepare and post : Pay run journalsBonus provisionsAnnual leave and ACC accruals
- Complete GL reconciliations for : Payroll ClearingEmployee Tax Deduction ClearingSuperannuation and Payroll Tax ClearingLeave and bonus provisions
- Maintain accurate employee records (., leave setup, deductions, pension).
- Report FTE headcount and manage updates / terminations on relevant platforms.
- Provide data to ACC and HR for tools such as WISE and Magnitude.
- Respond to employee and manager queries on : Leave entitlements and accrualsWork hoursExpatriate entitlementsPay changesSupport payroll transformation initiatives.Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation.
About You
Prior experience in payroll operations, preferably with exposure to Australia and New Zealand payroll systems.Familiarity with ERP systems for payroll processing and financial postings.Experience in HR administration and employee services support is a plus.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll data handling.Effective communication skills to respond to employee and manager queries.Maintain accurate employee records in the payroll system (., leave setup, deductions, pension).Report FTE headcount and manage updates / terminations on relevant platforms.Provide data to ACC and HR for reporting tools (., WISE, Magnitude).About Us, We offer and What's next
