The Role : Senior Project Electrical Engineer (DPT5)
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for the project, acting as the primary contact for all technical matters, assessing risks and opportunities, and proposing actions.
- Ensure that customer technical requirements are met in terms of performance, quality, cost, and time, in accordance with the contract and based on the specifications defined during the tender phase.
- Lead a technical team of designers and engineers across multiple sites / countries, ensuring international collaboration and coordination among all stakeholders.
- Oversee all technical aspects of integrated customer projects, including design, implementation, testing, FAT, and SAT.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Director / Manager and Contracts Manager to manage technical risks and interfaces between stakeholders and the customer, ensuring quality and timely deliverables.
- Obtain final customer approval for the overall technical solution.
- Technical team coordination & management : lead and approve basic and detailed design of all technical aspects of an integrated solution, ensure alignment with customer and contract requirements; ensure the project technical team delivers according to the project schedule; monitor technical costs and budget control for the technical aspects; coordinate all technical implementation activities at factories, supplier premises, and testing facilities until project closure.
- Technical coordination of project stakeholders : collaborate with the Project Manager and other designers and engineers responsible for parts of the technical scope; identify and coordinate specific expertise support if needed; lead and coordinate all technical aspects of subcontracted parts of the project in collaboration with the procurement team; act as the single point of contact for all stakeholders regarding the project's technical content.
- Design & implementation : perform and review design and specification activities using Schneider Electric products and systems to maximize profitability and minimize risks; may also perform some implementation / testing activities.
- Risk & opportunity management, change management : identify potential changes to the contract or agreed design; work with PM to specify changes and their implications for Schneider Electric, including cost impact evaluation, until obtaining a variation order; alert PM of any significant issues that could affect project performance or customer satisfaction.
- Customer interactions : lead technical discussions and clarifications with customers; act as the key contact person for all technical topics related to the project.
- Quality process, methods, tools : support PM to ensure full compliance with Schneider Electric processes (especially Customer Project Process, and Technical Design Process), and with quality instructions, safety requirements and governance principles; lead the technical team in addressing any deviations or quality issues during project execution.
- Community of practice & coaching : participate in Technical Leaders' Community of Practice within the Execution Center or globally within the Technical Excellence Community network; identify, formalize, share, and promote lessons learned and best practices; act as a role model or coach for junior engineers and designers; stay updated on the latest technical developments in equipment and systems within your field of engineering.
Qualifications
Degree / Master's in Electrical or Industrial Engineering.Minimum of 5-8 years' experience leading the technical scope of customer projects or parts of large projects in MV / LV Electrical Distribution.Experience in UPS domain including load study, battery sizing, creation of BOM, SLD, UPS panel GA & drawings is a plus.Experience in Oil & Gas, "Electrical Houses" (ehouses) mechanical / structural / HVAC design / design review is a plus.Ability to lead functional and remote teams.Strong written and verbal communication skills for complex technical strategies.Ability to influence stakeholders on project technical strategy.Willingness to learn from others, share knowledge, coach others, and collaborate effectively.Proficiency in English; other languages are a plus.What’s in it for me?
