Overview

Job Title : Assistant Director of Human Resources - Sunway City Hotels Kuala Lumpur

Job Role : Primary role for a Assistant Reservation Manager is to support Reservation Manager to oversee reservation operations for three integrated hotels under Sunway City Kuala Lumpur Hotels.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative
  • Constantly review task processes and staff’s productivity in ensuring that work standards are consistently met.
  • Handle staff scheduling and administrative report requirements.
  • Ensure that all office correspondence is filed accordingly.
  • Handle all office supplies and equipment requisition.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to Reservations agent in special requests or problem that may arise in the department.
  • Handle special projects delegated by Reservations Manager / Director of Revenue.
  • Communication
  • Conduct and attend meeting / briefing as required.
  • Coordinate reservations requirements and handle inter-department communications.
  • Constantly update staff and respective department on status and selling strategies as dictated by the Reservations Manager / Dir. Of Revenue.
  • Communicate daily pricing strategies to key departments including Reservations, Sales and Front Office.
  • Room Inventory Control
  • Alert the Reservations Manager of any sudden fluctuation in occupancy levels in any of the 5 properties.
  • Implement inventory control and selling strategies as dictated by the Reservations Manager / Dir. Of Revenue.
  • Manage group reservation activity (group block) and monitor cut-off dates.
  • Handle overbooking situations and arrange alternative accommodations (farm outs).
  • Monitor deadlines for group blocks and ensure rooming lists are received on time.
  • Review all arrivals during tight periods to minimize unexpected “wash” or attrition.
  • Revenue Management
  • Monitor call handling so that opportunities in upselling are maximized.
  • Closely monitor tight dates and give recommendations to Reservations Manager / Dir Of Revenue on yield opportunities.
  • Assist Revenue Manager in generating Daily and Weekly Reports.
  • Work closely with Sales Personnel to understand company and travel agent profile.
  • Build good business rapport with all potential clients / secretaries of company and travel agents.
  • Perform telemarketing whenever necessary.
