Overview

The IT Executive supports the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the school’s IT infrastructure, systems, and digital learning tools across the entire Seri Botani International School (SBIS) campus. The role includes technical support to staff, students, and parents, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting network stability, and ensuring smooth operation of audiovisual systems and educational technology. The role contributes to a safe, efficient, and innovative digital learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills , with the ability to prioritise urgent issues

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide first-line IT support to students, teachers, administrative staff, and parents.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to devices, user accounts, software applications, printers, POS systems, and network access.
  • Support Windows environments, including updates, maintenance, and configuration.
  • System Administration & Maintenance

  • Assist with account management across Active Directory, Google Workspace, and internal platforms.
  • Monitor server health, firewall security, CCTV systems, and software updates.
  • Track and manage IT inventory, licenses, and warranties.
  • Support basic administration of school management and finance systems.
  • Network & Infrastructure Support

  • Assist in maintaining wired and wireless network infrastructure across the School, Boarding House, and Multi-Purpose Hall.
  • Troubleshoot routers, switches, access points, and connectivity issues.
  • Support access systems (barrier gates, door access, intercoms, panic buttons) and network-linked security devices.
  • AV & Event Support

  • Set up and support AV systems for events, assemblies, and meetings.
  • Operate and troubleshoot microphones, speakers, projectors, LED screens, and live streaming equipment.
  • Maintain the sound, lighting, and multimedia systems used in school functions.
  • Administration & Coordination

  • Maintain updated documentation of systems, procedures, and troubleshooting logs.
  • Liaise with external vendors for equipment servicing and upgrades.
  • Support IT-related planning for school improvement initiatives and compliance audits.
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Remain on standby during critical after-hours school events, system updates, or emergencies.
  • Perform other administrative or technical tasks as assigned by the Principal.
  • Person Specification

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support or educational IT systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Experience with AV systems and school-based IT platforms (e.g. Google Workspace).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding digital security and user data.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) tools for managing student / staff devices.
  • Prior experience in an international / private school or educational institution.
  • Familiarity with firewall, VPN, CCTV, and biometric / door access systems.
  • Flexible and adaptable to support dynamic school needs.
