Job description

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and taxation.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns, including corporate tax, individual tax, and GST / VAT.
  • Ability to manage and supervise a team, providing guidance and training to junior staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Experience in liaising with tax authorities and auditors.
  • Must be willing to work onsite in Puchong.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of tax returns, including corporate tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes, ensuring timely and accurate submission to tax authorities.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluation, to foster professional development and growth.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular reviews of accounting records and transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies, errors, or irregularities, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies to provide information, respond to inquiries, and resolve any issues or concerns.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, and assess the impact on the company's accounting and tax practices.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and other accounting software to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and support decision-making processes.
