Responsibilities
- The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the following :
- Group Consolidation & Reporting
Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements across Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
Ensure accuracy in intercompany eliminations, minority interest accounting, and foreign exchange translation.Manage group reporting to shareholders, Board, and Audit Committee on a timely basis.Subsidiary Oversight & ComplianceOversee financial operations of subsidiaries to ensure compliance with statutory and tax regulations (Malaysia, Singapore, and future Thailand).
Ensure consistent application of group accounting policies across all entities.Monitor compliance with debt covenants and liaise with financiers where required.Forecasting, Budgeting & AnalysisPrepare monthly closing, forecasts, and annual budgets for holding and dormant companies.
Support CFO with group-level variance analysis and ad hoc financial analysis.Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial controls, working capital, and process efficiencies.Stakeholder ManagementLiaise with auditors, tax agents, regulators, and banks to ensure smooth statutory and regulatory compliance.
Partner with school-level finance teams to resolve consolidation and reporting issues.Support system improvements and automation initiatives (SAP / iSAMS integration).Other DeliverablesPrepare consolidated audited financial statements for holding companies.
Manage intercompany transaction schedules and ensure proper reconciliation.Support cash flow management and treasury activities.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or recognised professional qualification (MICPA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).Minimum 5 years’ working experience, with at least 3 years in external audit.Prior regional consolidation experience (including Singapore; Thailand a plus).Strong technical knowledge of financial consolidation, accounting standards (MFRS / MPERS / FRS / IFRS), and statutory requirements in Malaysia and Singapore.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools; hands-on experience in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is an advantage.Proven ability to work independently under tight deadlines, with strong organisational and analytical skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including preparation of Board-level reports.High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a lean HQ team.#J-18808-Ljbffr
