CORE RESPONSIBILITY
- To promote a safe conduct of work at Sherwin-Williams Selangor, Malaysia.
- To assist, guide and lead safety & health committee members during their meeting, inspection & activities programs. Provide them necessary training.
- Determine the safety & health condition of employee at workplace & make recommendation for top management further action.
- To investigate any incident, accident, near miss, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease in the workplace. To collect, analyze and maintain statistics of all incidents.
- To conduct, oversee internal safety & health audits and evaluate the results, centered on various element of safety & health system, to ensure the appreciate corrective action is implemented & effectiveness and efficiency of measures taken are compliance OSHA Act and FM act.
- To brief the employee, visitors, contractors or part-timers on safety & health matter firsthand before their commencement of duties or tour
- Building the document system & other requirements according to ISO system (ISO 9001 : 2015, & ISO 14001 : 2015)
- A management representative for the ISO integrated system
- Responsibilities to oversee the EHS activities in Sherwin-Williams Malaysia plant.
- Liaise with Safety & Health dept of government on legal or local authorities matters related to occupational safety & health issues. To assist them in carrying out their duties during inspection & visits
- To handle consultation and communication with interested parties on inquiries pertaining to safety & health policy or system within the company
- To carry out any other instruction given from time to time on any matters pertaining to safety & health at the workplace
- To have attended a certification program for Safety & Health officer certified by NIOSH or other institutional certification provider approved by Malaysia Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH).
- Any responsibility assigned by plant manager which is related to work scope in environment, health & safety, health and management.Request other dept to issue the information or assist in needed.
- Having the right to change SH document & propose other related dept revising their document when it is not suitable in current condition.
REQUIREMENT :
Education : Bachelor's degree in safety, Health, or a related disciplineKnowledge & Experience :
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), preferably within chemical or manufacturing industries
Strong understanding of applicable safety regulations, risk assessment practices, and workplace compliance requirementsMandatory Certification : Must be a Registered Safety & Health Officer (Green Book holder) certified by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), MalaysiaAdditional Preferred Qualifications : Possession of other safety-related certifications or competencies (e.g., Safety & Health Officer (SHO) credentials, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, first aid training)
