Music Teacher – Key Responsibilities

To lead, plan and teach Music across the Primary and Secondary sections of the School up to IGCSE.
To possess excellent knowledge and experience of assessment and tracking to inform student progress, including the use of standardised tests.

To deliver INSET / training to staff as part of the CPD programme.
To assist the School with developing greater ‘impact on learning’ practices.
To have sound knowledge and practice of the National Curriculum for England, curriculum development and current educational thinking.

Line management
The Music Teacher will report to the Head of Secondary.
Qualifications and Experience
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Education or any other relevant fields.
Experience and Skills :
- Minimum (insert number of years) years of work experience in (fields / skill areas).
- Developed and delivered engaging music lessons aligned with curriculum requirements.
- Prepared students for school performances, concerts, assemblies, and competitions.
- Led school choir / orchestra / ensemble and organized rehearsals and events.
- Experience teaching a variety of instruments such as piano, guitar, recorder, ukulele, percussion.
- Integrated music theory, practical skills, and appreciation of different genres into lessons.
- Assessed students’ progress and provided feedback to support their musical growth.
- Coordinated music-related extracurricular activities and enrichment.
- Collaborated with teaching staff to support cross-curricular projects and events.
