The primary responsibility of the Laboratory Technician is to provide external and internal customer analytical requirements including maintaining conformance to analytical procedures including testing, instruments maintenance and documentation.
The technician will be responsible to perform daily testing, laboratory support functions and assisting relevant personnel with special project as need and assigned : including the following :
To maintain high level of quality, control and quality assurance of all analysis carried out in the laboratory
Perform offshore / onshore related activities
Assure data reliability to adherence through quality assurance
Additionally provide technical support and guidance to the lab personnel
Investigate quality incident related to the laboratory
Responsible and accountable for all laboratory activity under the direction as well as maintain ISO 9001, 17025, internal SOP and client’s work requirement relating to analysis and data generation
Plan the schedule of maintenance and calibration of instrumentation
Additional to this the technician must ensure compliance to all company’s program, contributing to meet customer service, commitment to maintain laboratory operations, complying to QA / QC, HSE, environment and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Certificate or Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering from recognized university / college.
2 to 3 years or more working experience in Oil & Gas industry where applicable.
