Engineer IV

Job Summary

The Engineer III will be responsible for supporting the production build of various systems on the manufacturing floor. Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of manufacturing techniques, procedures, and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs, and monitor work for compliance with applicable build and quality standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials to create manufacturing-ready documentation such as S.O.E.’s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.
• Establish process for manufacturing and create work instructions for assembly in MES System.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.
• Evaluate manufacturing process and create process control plan, PFMEA and risk assessment.
• Must comply with POR and CE! Compliance.
• Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality departments to drive continuous improvement on quality, efficiency, and manufacturing cycle time.
• Initiate and support Design For Excellence and manufacturing process improvement / standardization.
• Engage with IE to optimize layout and product floor layout for new and existing plants.
• Implement Lean line using DFT concept with relevant jig and fixture.
• Provide technical solutions and support for troubleshooting issues, quality issues, and first-pass yield issues.
• Participate in product transfer : coordinate the team for training, understand equipment, facility requirements, build and test requirements.
• Liaise and coordinate with Engineering and Material departments on specs, BOM, and material changes / issues.
• Liaise and coordinate with Quality department on supplier quality and customer quality issues including RCCA and 8D preparation.
• Liaise and coordinate with Test Engineering on testing development or testing issues.
• Liaise with customers for all BOM / drawing / design issues by generating a problem report / supplier problem sheet / Supplier request deviation with a single-page summary.
• Involved in MRB (Material Review Board) meetings, make justifiable dispositions, analyze data, and work with relevant departments / suppliers to reduce non-conformance.
• Minimum CAD knowledge to analyze 3D drawings from the customer.
• Initiate engineering changes and waivers for any change required.
• Work in ERP System for engineering master control and change management.
