The role is within the Risk Analytics function in PSA, Malaysia, reporting to the Head of Group Risk Assurance & Data Analytics. Data and Analytics along with the Risk Unified Data Platform have been identified as critical areas of focus. This role will be in charge to build out a robust data architecture and infra for creating and expanding the areas of data coverage. In addition, the integration of reporting and analytics along with the Data lake for enhanced Risk Assurance is seen as an emerging opportunity area. The role will involve working closely with Head Office (HO) ie Technology, Analytics, Group SME for supporting the business units.The role will provide oversight and manage a team of 5-7, with 2-3 direct reports.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Help chart and shape the tech discussion on the data (reporting, analytics and data lake), while implementing the identification of appropriate tools and technology.
  • Develop and oversee advanced reporting and analytics capability for comprehensive risk management. Aiding such insights to facilitate strategic decision making
  • Collaborate with the Org Enterprise Architect for implementing a robust risk and compliance data architecture for supporting the business requirements and processes.
  • Working in tandem with Group Data, Tech, Risk senior leadership and own team for deliverables
  • Ensuring data initiatives are in strict alignment with group data governance requirements, with integrity, compliance and data security
  • On-time delivery / quality

Job Requirements :

  • Possesses a bachelor’s or PG degree
  • At least 12-15 years of experience in performing compliance operational activities e.g., due diligence, transaction monitoring, conflict checks.
  • Experienced in financial crime monitoring systems. Experience in using Quantexa preferred but not essential
  • Experienced in creating process documentation such as SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), process maps
  • Curiosity to learn new compliance skills and an effective team player
  • Analytical thinking and proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate confidently with stakeholders across multiple geographies
  • Proficiency in English is a must and knowledge of other Asian languages a plus
  • Experience in insurance industry or financial services sector is preferred
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Confident in leading meetings and providing reports to senior stakeholders
