We pride ourselves on technical excellence, safety and outstanding client service — and we’re hiring a senior technician to lead fault-finding, estimating, site supervision and BMS work.

Role overview

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Commercial AC Technician who can diagnose and resolve complex HVAC faults, prepare competitive estimates, supervise small teams on site, and troubleshoot / install building management systems (BMS). This is a hands‑on leadership role : you’ll be the technical escalation point for the field team, own the quality of workmanship on site, and produce estimates and commissioning documentation for projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead fault diagnosis and corrective repairs on commercial AC systems (DX, chiller plants, VRF, AHUs, pumps, controls).
  • Provide technical escalation and mentoring for service technicians and apprentices.
  • Prepare accurate site estimates and tender packages : labour take‑offs, material lists, mark‑ups, provisional sums and risk allowances.
  • Program, configure and commission BMS  /  controls systems (BACnet, Modbus, Tridium / Niagara, or equivalent).
  • Test and commission HVAC installations and controls.
  • Supervise on‑site works : daily briefings, quality checks, safety compliance and client liaison.
  • Maintain compliance with local regulations and company Health & Safety procedures; ensure permits and hot‑work permits are in place when required.
  • Support planned maintenance contracts and contribute to continuous improvement of diagnostic and estimating processes.

Required experience & qualifications

  • Experience with commercial chiller plants and large AHU systems.
  • Minimum 5 years commercial HVAC experience, with at least 2 years performing estimating and / or site supervision.
  • Proven experience with BMS / controls : programming, commissioning and troubleshooting (BACnet / Modbus / Tridium / Niagara or similar).
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding skills (control wiring, relays, contactors, sensors).
  • Demonstrable estimating experience — takeoffs, pricing, and writing scope‑of‑works / quotations.
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to multiple sites.
  • Strong communication skills and confident client‑facing presence.
  • Familiarity with industry estimating software (or excellent Excel modelling skills).
  • Experience supervising and managing small works teams.
  • Working knowledge of health & Safety standards.
