Cybersecurity Specialist – Security Operations & Compliance

Reporting to the ASEAN Business Information Security Officer (BISO), this Cybersecurity Specialist (Security Operations & Compliance) role serves as the ASEAN region’s subject‑matter expert and Level 3 escalation point for complex security incidents and operational issues. The role provides expert guidance and technical support to country‑level IT / OT teams, ensuring incidents are effectively triaged, investigated, and resolved in line with global standards. It also drives the consistent adoption of operational security controls, baselines, and procedures to strengthen the region’s cybersecurity maturity and resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage daily security incidents, escalating and coordinating responses as required.
  • Collaborate with the global MSSP, global security teams, and country teams on incident investigations and remediation.
  • Ensure endpoint and server hardening baselines are implemented and maintained across IT / OT environments.
  • Track and drive vulnerability remediation in line with defined global cyber metrics and SLAs.
  • Implement and monitor security controls, including EDR, IAM, and SIEM solutions.
  • Serve as the Level 3 escalation point for complex or high‑priority incidents.
  • Provide guidance to country‑level IT / OT teams on alert handling, incident triage, containment, and remediation.
  • Maintain and update SOPs, playbooks, and technical documentation to support operational excellence.
  • Prepare regular operational reports covering incident trends, patch compliance, and threat activity.
  • Support knowledge transfer and capability building through training and technical alignment sessions.
  • Act as backup to the Cybersecurity Specialist (Governance & Risk Management).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3‑5 years’ experience in security operations, threat monitoring, or incident response.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CEH (essential).
  • Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) security is highly desirable; candidates should be prepared to support in this area.

    • Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and practices.
  • Ability to analyse security data, identify threats, and assess risks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot security issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience with SOC processes, tools, and incident handling.
  • Knowledge of IT / OT infrastructure, networks, and endpoint / server security controls.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience working with global and regional MSSPs.

    • Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to present and communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Open to candidates from similar specialist roles or senior engineer / SOC lead backgrounds looking to step up.
