Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join MRT Corp as a Project Manager, Asset Systems. This role supports the Head of Rail & Feeder Bus System Department in managing asset performance and delivering key projects related to Electric Trains (ET). You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of MRT assets through effective project management, technical oversight, and proactive stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage ET Reconditioning Project activities and Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V), including monitoring and reviewing contractor / consultant performance.
  • Manage project issues, risks, and mitigation actions, escalating to the steering committee when necessary.
  • Oversee project delivery, managing timelines, dependencies, and deliverables for initiatives such as the Rapid Rail Build-Up Programme.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including Rapid Rail, contractors, OEMs, and regulators.
  • Manage and monitor Level 4 and Level 5 overhaul / enhancement projects, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, safe, and high-quality delivery.
  • Provide technical input, review operator reports, and conduct asset performance audits to ensure compliance with O&M agreements.
  • Review and comment on technical documentation, drawings, and Applications For Modification (AFM).
  • Collaborate on design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning activities for Electric Trains.
  • Attend and oversee First Article Inspections (FAI) and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Understand and support asset lifecycle management by contributing to warranty management, obsolescence handling, and the resolution of technical issues with operators and OEMs.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or equivalent).
  • CGPA of ≥ 3.00 or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in project management, asset systems, or rail-related engineering projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of rolling stock / electric trains, maintenance, testing, and commissioning.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects, stakeholder engagement, and contractor / vendor management.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver within deadlines.
