Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Metrology Engineer to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement systems used in manufacturing and quality control. This role involves developing and maintaining calibration procedures, analysing measurement data, and supporting the implementation of precision measurement technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metrology principles, statistical analysis, and quality standards to help drive continuous improvement and ensure product compliance.
Responsibilities
- Schedule equipment validity checks and perform calibration when necessary to ensure it remains within acceptable tolerances and limits according to predefined specifications.
- Refine the existing checking process and method by aiming to reduce overall checking time.
- Creatively design and propose an innovative checking method to combine or reduce the checking steps while acquiring an accurate result based on the product checking requirements.
- Handle user requests and project demands on equipment to fulfill the checking requirements based on the company's product.
- Reduce waste and design a method to store important gauges, accessories, and other small checking equipment.
- Develop proper use methods for every equipment to prolong its lifespan.
- Create and maintain a new purchase receiving flow and perform equipment acceptance tests.
- Prepare a preventive maintenance checklist and follow the schedule to conduct necessary work.
- Create a working instruction and assign tasks to the technician.
- Validate the technician’s work and detect future possible abnormalities.
- Record and maintain equipment performance data, equipment SOPs, analyze breakdown causes and recovery efficiency, and create manpower utilization reports to compare planned and unplanned maintenance activities for improved operations.
- Oversee equipment inventory, including maintaining backup parts and spares to ensure uninterrupted operations during downtime.
Qualifications
Possesses at least a Bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Measurement Science, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Knowledge of measurement standards and the international system of units (SI).Proficiency in calibration techniques and equipment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Knowledge of Quality Control and Assurance procedures.Fresh graduates with relevant technical training or internships may be considered.Be careful - Don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
