Job descriptionEngineer sophisticated credit scoring models by analyzing financial data, business performance metrics, and alternative data sources to predict default probability and optimize lending decisions Continuously enhance model accuracy through backtesting, performance monitoring, and incorporating new data variables that improve predictive power Develop automated screening tools that streamline initial deal assessment while maintaining rigorous credit standards Build risk segmentation frameworks that enable differentiated pricing and terms based on borrower risk profiles Create comprehensive credit policies that balance growth objectives with prudent risk management Conduct deep-dive financial analysis of potential borrowers including cash flow modeling, financial statement analysis, and business viability assessment Evaluate management quality and business fundamentals to assess execution risk and growth potential Perform industry and competitive analysis to understand market dynamics and company positioning Structure optimal deal terms including interest rates, repayment schedules, and security arrangements that balance borrower needs with investor expectations Present compelling investment cases to internal committees and recommend deals for debt crowdfunding platform listing Track portfolio performance across key metrics including default rates, recovery rates, and investor returns Implement early warning systems to identify potential problem loans and recommend intervention strategies Conduct post-investment monitoring of borrower performance and covenant compliance Generate insightful reports for investors, management, and regulators on portfolio health and market trends Optimize platform performance by analyzing deal characteristics that drive successful outcomes 3-6 years of credit analysis experience in banking, alternative lending, corporate finance, or investment analysis Advanced financial modeling skills with expertise in cash flow analysis, ratio analysis, and credit risk assessment methodologies Statistical analysis proficiency using tools like Excel, SQL, Python, R, or specialized credit modeling software Deep understanding of financial statements and ability to identify key risk factors and financial health indicators Industry knowledge across multiple sectors with understanding of business models, market dynamics, and operational risks Strong written communication with ability to prepare clear, compelling credit memos and investment recommendations Detail-oriented mindset with proven track record of accurate analysis under tight deadlines Credit scoring model development experience with machine learning applications in risk assessment Alternative lending or fintech experience with understanding of digital lending platforms and crowdfunding dynamics CFA, FRM, or related professional certification demonstrating advanced financial analysis expertise Regulatory knowledge of Malaysian financial services guidelines and debt crowdfunding regulations Database management skills for handling large datasets and building automated reporting systems SME lending experience with understanding of small business credit challenges and evaluation techniques
