located in our Kuala Lumpur office
Overview :
The General Manager of AVIAREPS Malaysia is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, business development, and strategic direction of the office. This role requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in the travel and aviation industry, particularly in the General Sales Agent (GSA) model, to drive business growth and develop strong relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Business Development
- Drive business growth and market expansion by identifying new business opportunities and expanding client portfolios not limited to within the aviation, tourism, and hospitality sectors
- Lead initiatives to retain existing clients and secure new airline and tourism representation contracts
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets
- Craft and oversee the creation of compelling RFPs to attract and gain new clients
2. Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with company policiesEnsure the office operates within budget while optimizing resources and controlling costsManage vendor relationships and office infrastructure, including IT systems3. Client Relationships, Reporting & Communication
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and business partnersAct as the main point of contact for airline and tourism clients, ensuring all deliverables are metProvide regular performance reports to clients and the regional director, ensuring transparent and proactive communicationPresent business performance updates and recommendations during client meetings and reviews4. GSA Representation
Oversee GSA services for airline clients, ensuring seamless sales, ticketing, and distributionDevelop and implement initiatives to drive ticket sales, maximize revenue, and enhance brand visibility in the region5. Team Leadership
Lead and manage the Malaysian team, fostering a positive and high-performing work environmentProvide training, mentorship, and career development opportunities for staffAlign the team’s efforts with company goals and monitor their performance against set objectives6. Strategic Planning
Collaborate with the regional and global leadership teams to align business strategies with AVIAREPS' overall goalsAnalyze market trends and performance data to identify areas for growth and improvementDevelop and implement long-term plans to sustain profitability and market leadership7. Financial Management
Monitor financial performance, ensuring profitability and controlling expensesPrepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for the officeEnsure compliance with local regulations and company financial policies8. Marketing & Sales Support
Develop sales and marketing strategies to support client airlines and tourism boards in reaching their market goalsSupport sales teams by providing insights, market intelligence, and guidance on customer engagement strategiesYour Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation, Tourism, or related fieldMinimum of 10 years of experience in a senior sales / marketing position in the travel, aviation, or GSA sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership roleProven experience in managing GSA operations, client relationship management, and business developmentProven track record of managing a profitable business unit and achieving sales targetsExcellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with clients and stakeholdersStrong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teamsKnowledge of the Malaysia aviation market and GSA model is highly preferredProficiency in financial management, including budgeting and forecastingAdditional Requirements
Ability to travel as required to meet with clients, partners, and attend industry eventsStrong understanding of the Malaysian regulatory environment related to aviation and travelOur Offer :
