Overview

Nanotechnology and Catalysis Research Center (NANOCAT), University of Malaya, invites applications for one (1) PhD position in the field of chemical catalysis under the research project " Photocatalysis for Environmental Remediation ".

The PhD project involves 2D materials design / synthesis in green chemistry advancement for energy efficiency & environmental sustainability. We are seeking passionate and dedicated researchers to join our team in developing innovative photocatalytic materials and processes for sustainable environmental applications.

Responsibilities

Develop composite materials as photocatalyst
Modify catalyst via doping, coupling or surface functionalization to strengthen charge separation and photon absorption
Characterization photocatalyst such as band structure, transient absorption for charge transfer decay
Reactive oxygen species and its related reaction mechanism characterization

Qualifications

First class BSc degree or MSc degree (BSc CGPA >

3.0)

Excellent proficiency in English (oral and written)

Highly motivated, critical thinking, problem-solving, self-discipline, adaptability and integrity

PhD study duration 3 years.

Monthly allowance of RM 2,500 – RM 2,800 , depending on qualifications.
