Job description

The School of Hospitality and Service Management at Sunway University invites outstanding applicants for the position of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in the area of Food and Beverage.

Responsibilities

This position requires commitments towards teaching, research and scholarly activities, and contribution to programme administration and management.

Research

Conduct and publish high quality journal articles, conference papers and / or other peer reviewed outputs as appropriate to the subject discipline.
Supervise research projects, including Doctoral and / or Master’s students.

Teaching

Design, plan and deliver lectures, tutorials and other teaching and learning activities appropriate to their discipline, and the requirements of the University.

Contribute to the design, development, delivery, review and enhancement of programmes of study within the Department / School.

Administration and Management

Participate in internal and external events, such as open days, outreach activities, and visits to partner institutions and internship placements.

Support and assist colleagues in ensuring the smooth running of the department and programmes.

Requirements

At least a Master’s degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field; candidates with a PhD will be prioritised.

At least 5 to 10 years of hands‑on experience in the food & beverage or hospitality industry.

Proven ability to deliver both practical and theoretical lessons effectively.

Industry‑relevant certifications such as HACCP, WSET for wines, Barista certifications, or other relevant credentials.

Commitment towards continuous professional development.
