Overview

Instruction Designer - Learning and Development, Clarks, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Instructional Designer - L&D is responsible for creating and implementing engaging learning experiences that align with organizational goals, while supporting business performance by driving key KPI’s. Reporting to the Head of Learning & Development, this role focuses on designing training programs, developing instructional materials, enabling knowledge transfer through train-the-trainer and facilitation activities, and collaborating with subject matter experts to enhance employee development and performance. The Instructional Designer plays a key role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, training manuals, and facilitator guides / job aids.
  • Develop job aids and learning tools that enable retail teams to improve performance and achieve key business KPI’s.
  • Collaborate with L&D, HR and departmental leaders to identify training needs and objectives.
  • Apply instructional design theories and methodologies to create effective learning experiences.
  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze performance gaps to recommend training solutions.
  • Utilize multimedia tools and technologies to enhance the learning process.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Maintain and update training materials to ensure relevance and accuracy.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in instructional design and employee training.
  • Support facilitation programs where required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or corporate training.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design models.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and assess training effectiveness.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with HR processes and employee development strategies is a plus.
  • Languages : English is required; additional languages such as Mandarin are a plus.
