General Description Determining and maintaining standards of clerical and nursing supplies for the unit.
Job Description
- Understands the service organization structure.
- Inform Nurse-In-Charge or Unit Manager when changes occur in circumstances which affect standards of care.
- Attend meetings held by the services to discuss issues and matters pertaining to the operation of the service.
- Answers phone calls and relay messages.
- Update of computer information : Ensure patients’ administration and discharges are up-to-date and accurate information regarding patients is entered.
- Work with other departments in developing patient schedules and maintain effective communication.
- Admission of patients : Get room ready and communicate with admissions for the new patient, maintain bed census, notify staff and doctors concerned with the new admission, check patient’s charts for pertinent information, keep patient’s charts in order, maintain patient’s register book.
- Charges and transfer patients : Check patient’s chart and take care of all clerical implications concerning patient’s discharge from hospital and / or transfer to other services, inform patient re-appointment, make arrangements from patient to be accompanied, if necessary, make arrangement for ambulance service if required by patients.
- Maintain inventory of linen and equipment and supplies.

Experience as a clerk or typist or both, preferably if been exposed to hospital environment.Having been with public contact and knowledge of interpersonal relationships is a great advantage.Skills & Competencies
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED : Able to converse fluently and write in English language and Bahasa Malaysia.Personal Attributes
