Systems Administrator II
Work Location : Johor, Malaysia
Our Security System Administrator II will play a pivotal role in our Datacenter security team.
The primary focus of this role is to manage, maintain, and administer our physical security
systems and the underlying infrastructure. This includes responsibility for Windows servers,
basic network troubleshooting, and in-depth management of CCTV, access control, and key
management systems.
Primary Responsibilities :
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows servers and virtual machines (VMs) to ensure optimal performance and security.
Conduct basic network troubleshooting to identify and resolve connectivity and performance issues.
Manage and maintain CCTV systems, primarily Genetec and Avigilon, ensuring their effective operation for security monitoring.
Administer access control systems, specifically Lenel, to ensure secure and efficient access to facilities.
Regularly update and maintain all security systems to ensure they are running the latest software and are free from vulnerabilities.
Respond promptly to security incidents, providing technical tier two expertise and support. Working closely with local embedded technicians on break-fix solutions.
Maintain thorough documentation for all systems and provide regular reports on system status, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Work collaboratively with other team members and provide training and guidance to customers on security system operations and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
5-10 years relevant work experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
Scripting knowledge to automate tasks is a plus (Powershell, Python, or Bash)
Strong knowledge of Windows server environments and network troubleshooting.
Expertise in managing and administering physical security systems such as CCTV (Genetec, Avigilon), access control (Lenel), and key management systems (Traka).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Relevant certifications in IT security and system administration are preferred.
