Technical Engineer (Based in Bandar Cassia, Penang, Malaysia)

Job Title : Technical Engineer – role based in Bandar Cassia, Penang, Malaysia.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Engineer to support our expanding business in Malaysia. This position involves both pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support for our Auto‑ID product range, including barcode printers, handheld PDAs, scanners, RFID devices, and label consumables . As the key technical liaison between customers and the sales team, you will play a crucial role in solution deployment, technical consultation, and issue resolution .

Key Responsibilities

Conduct product and solution demonstrations for customers and partners.
Assist the sales team with RFP / RFQ responses, technical specifications, and solution design.
Analyze customer requirements and recommend optimal hardware / software configurations.
Lead product testing, validation, and proof‑of‑concept (POC) activities.
Deliver technical and product training to customers and internal teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware / software issues remotely or on‑site.
Provide end‑user training on product operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
Collaborate closely with the software and support teams to ensure prompt and effective problem resolution.
Document and report technical cases, feedback, and field insights for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

Must have permanent work rights in Malaysia.

Strong Mandarin (spoken and written) and English communication skills – able to prepare written proposals and conduct customer discussions.

Education : Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, IT, Computer Science, or related disciplines.

Minimum 2 years of technical support experience with hardware devices (e.g., printers, scanners, IoT equipment).

Familiarity with barcode and RFID technologies (e.g., Zebra, Honeywell).

Working knowledge of networking protocols (TCP / IP, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi) and printer command languages (ZPL / EPL).

Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude and passion for Auto‑ID solutions are also encouraged to apply.

Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent multitasking, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.

Self‑motivated, with a proactive approach to learning and customer service.
