Avery Dennison is responsible for overall Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) for the Bangi Plant & Kajang Distribution Center to ensure full compliance with legal requirements, standards and company requirements. You will maintain good practices and continuously find avenues to improve along the way to achieve a high EHS standard in alignment with regional and corporate direction and guidelines. Act as support to the plant for special tasks or projects and provide input and guidance to the team to ensure that all EHS factors relevant to projects are addressed appropriately before and during the project. You will be based in Bangi Malaysia and also support the Kajang Distribution Center.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE :
- Responsible for all Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), ensuring the sites comply with local legal regulations, international standards and global safety and environment directives.
- Ensure site SOPs are aligned with ISO14001 & ISO45001 standards as well as Corporate EHS Standards, implemented & updated regularly.
- Perform & update HIRARC for routine work
- Develop a gemba program, ensure gemba walks are conducted according to plan & follow through on closure of findings.
- Review of work instructions periodically and audit sites regularly in-accordance to local regulations and company EHS standards.
- Develop EHS yearly training plan & execute both internal and external training for relevant stakeholders (new employees, engineering, forklift drivers, operators and contractors etc.)
- Support all stakeholders in EHS related matters before and during any projects to prevent any compliance issues and unwanted incidents by reviewing work method statements, risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis before providing work permits and monitoring the project.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports e.g. monthly report, man hours, environmental metrics etc in the various reporting channels.
- Lead accident / incident investigations and drive closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist with maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 program requirements and certification.
- Ensure EHS Committee Meetings are conducted and minutes are prepared and distributed.
- Continuously build a positive safety culture for the sites by implementing innovative and creative programs for safety, health and well-being.
- Plan and drive EHS initiatives to continuously reduce risks, improve effectiveness and improve efficiency by leveraging on feedback & new technology.
- Conduct Emergency response drill and maintain post mortem report on yearly basis
- Conduct self assessment for site EHS performance, identify and implement areas for improvement
- Other EHS initiatives and requirements as required from the region or corporate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Health and Safety or similar, Science, Engineering or equivalent.At least 5 years working experience in manufacturing or related fields.Competence on ISO45001 & ISO14001 systems, having internal auditor certification or lead auditor certifications in these standards will be an added advantage.Candidates must be at minimum a DOSH Safety and Health Coordinator. Having a DOSH Safety and Health Officer certificate is an added advantage.Have experience with environmental permits (Stormwater discharge, Wastewater discharge, Air Pollution, Hazardous Waste etc) and having the necessary DOE certifications will be an added advantage.Good working knowledge of EHS Management Systems, Risk Assessments, Auditing Techniques, Accident Investigation and local EHS Regulations.Excellent written & spoken command of both English & Bahasa Malaysia.Possess dynamism, leadership, people skills, good communication skills and results-oriented.Ability to work in a team and collaborative environment.Experience in Ergonomic principles and improvement methodologies.Good organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and adapt to changes quickly, excellent problem solving skills and strong interpretive skills.Able to work efficiently & effectively under tight deadlines with little or no direct supervisionAVERY DENNISON IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES EMPLOYER
