EAL Teacher is required to commence in 2026 to plan and teach English as an additional language to a group of mixed age and mixed ability learners with little to no English. Applicants are required to monitor and oversee the progress and attainment of students with English as an additional language and will be lined managed by the Head of Section and the Head of Curriculum Support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop learners focused relationships to ensure that the EAL learners feel safe, respected and comfortable to ask for help and not afraid making mistakes.
To monitor pupil’s work and assessments in order to track their English development for feedback of strength and weakness.
To initiate and prepare differentiated EAL materials for application in IPC, Mathematics and Language Arts to be used by pupils.
To prepare and lead discussions with parents about the progress and curriculum offered at the school.
Organising the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment.
Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class.
Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation.
Preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development.
Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development.
Coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area.
Working with others to plan and coordinate work.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Possess a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in related field.
Preferably with Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or any English Language Teaching certification or equivalent.
Most recent work experience with an international school is preferred.
At least 1 year of teaching experience as EAL teacher in school environment.
