Houzecheck.com is a UK fast-growing surveying services, mission-driven technology business building Surveying solution for B2C and B2B market. We are modernising surveying using robust cloud infrastructure, intelligent backend systems, and sleek, responsive UIs to deliver best-in-class user experiences.

We're now hiring a Principal Full Stack Developer for our Egypt / Malaysia office with deep backend expertise to join our core engineering team. You’ll be pivotal in leading architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and driving end-to-end delivery of platform features.

What You’ll Do

Lead technical architecture and system design across our platform, with a strong focus on backend, cloud infrastructure, and scalability .

Take ownership of complex features and services from conception to production.

Build and optimise backend services and APIs in Node.js , with a strong emphasis on performance, resilience, and security.

Contribute to frontend code in React to deliver full-stack capabilities when needed.

Drive DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and observability using AWS, CI / CD pipelines , and infrastructure-as-code.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Design teams to deliver impactful features.

Set and enforce high standards for code quality, architecture, testing, and documentation.

Coach and mentor other engineers; foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

DevOps : Terraform / CloudFormation, Docker, GitHub Actions / CircleCI

Other : REST APIs, GraphQL (optional), OpenAPI, Feature flags, Logging / Monitoring (e.g., Datadog, Sentry), Kafka, RabbitMQ

What We're Looking For

8+ years of software engineering experience, with recent experience in a Principal, Staff or Lead Engineer role.

Deep experience in backend development using Node.js , with an architectural mindset.

Experience designing and scaling distributed systems and microservices.

Strong experience with AWS services , cloud-native architecture, and security best practices.

Proficiency in front-end development using React ; able to contribute meaningfully across the stack.

Experience with CI / CD, testing strategies, monitoring, and debugging in production.

Strong communicator; able to translate technical strategy to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

Passion for mentorship, setting engineering standards, and creating high-performance teams.

Bonus If You Have

Experience in regulated industries or high-scale environments.

Familiarity with event-driven architectures or serverless designs.

Previous experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives or migrations.
