Job Description
As the Regional Category Manager for Packaging Materials, you will play a critical role within the Procurement team. Leading Country Category Buyers, you will manage a rapidly growing spend in the Packaging Materials portfolio. Your main goals will include achieving margin targets, managing stakeholders, developing and empowering Local Buyers, and maturing the category for future growth. Main responsibilities include : Understanding business requirements. Managing sub-categories with support from Global Buyers in IHQ (Netherlands) and Local Buyers in APAC countries. Developing sourcing strategies for the APAC region and aligning them with internal stakeholders. Implementing sophisticated pricing models across regions. Participating in sourcing decisions outside of APAC. Integrating new business from recently acquired companies. Negotiating with suppliers. Key roles include : Creating and implementing category sourcing plans that deliver tangible results. Building relationships with stakeholders across functions and countries to maximize value. Identifying opportunities for cost savings and driving their implementation. Managing supplier relationships to improve costs and drive continuous improvement. Benchmarking performance to ensure competitive costs. Driving innovation for cost savings, new technologies, and new suppliers. Contributing to global sourcing strategies and executing them in APAC. Defining and tracking category strategies and benefits realization. Establishing performance metrics for supplier evaluation. Managing supplier selection, negotiations, and contracts. Assessing supplier risks and managing key supplier performance. Ensuring contract compliance and managing transitions to key suppliers. Maintaining strategic supplier relationships to mitigate risks. Participating in cost price calculations and understanding manufacturing processes. Ensuring compliance with internal policies and ESG standards. Engaging with suppliers on sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives. Qualifications
We seek candidates with : Preference for candidates with a further degree or MBA. At least 3 years of relevant experience. Proven leadership in cross-functional teams focused on total cost of ownership. A track record of delivering cost and cash results. Ability to thrive in ambiguity, change, and minimal processes. Structured approach, energetic personality, excellent communication skills, and ability to work independently or in teams. Additional Information
