Project Manager Consultant – Waste to Energy (Municipal Solid Waste) (m / f / x)
Your Tasks
- The Project Manager Consultant will lead and execute municipal solid waste to energy projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring technical excellence, timely delivery, and stakeholder satisfaction. The role demands strong engineering and consulting experience, with proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex project cycles in an international context.
- Oversee all phases of waste-to-energy projects : conceptual design, feasibility studies, technical due diligence, procurement, construction supervision, and commissioning.
- Manage project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation to successfully achieve financial and performance targets.
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams, facilitating collaboration and efficient workflow.
- Prepare and review technical reports, project deliverables, and client presentations, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Engage with clients, contractors, lenders, and regulatory stakeholders; address concerns and promote transparent communication.
- Negotiate EPC contracts, manage tendering processes, and support PPA / IPP project development.
- Ensure compliance with international and local standards in waste management, energy recovery, and sustainability.
- Perform continuous quality control and drive process improvement across project activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical solutions, circular economy principles, and innovative waste treatments.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (mechanical, thermal, process, or related field). Advanced degrees preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and PVSyst is a must. Experience in other software (AutoCAD, Matlab, etc.) would be an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years' engineering and project management experience in waste-to-energy, power, or utilities sectors; consultancy background strongly preferred.
- Experience with municipal solid waste, energy recovery processes, and waste management concepts.
- Familiarity with FIDIC, NEC, and other contractual frameworks for large infrastructure and energy projects.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to work in culturally diverse environments.
- Proficient with project management tools and engineering design software.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel for project meetings, reviews, and supervision as required across ASEAN and globally.
- Outstanding written and spoken English; additional languages an asset.
