About the Role
The Commercial Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the financial performance and commercial effectiveness of Salus Aviation’s MRO and operational divisions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role ensures robust financial management and governance across accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and audit processes, while providing strategic commercial insights to support business growth. A key focus of this position is to lead the development of business plans, budgets, and financial models that support commercial initiatives and operational strategies within the MRO environment.
Leading a small finance team, the Commercial Finance Manager ensures the effective delivery of day-to-day financial functions while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate monthly processes for posting and the closing of accounts and ensuring all internal controls are maintained and deadlines met.
- Support the Finance Director to ensure financial reporting is compliant with IFRS accounting standards.
- Lead Audit Information Advisor – drive audit completion in a timely manner and respond to relevant Audit queries.
- Ensure tax postings are completed to a high standard and statutory tax requirements, including preparation of returns, are met in accordance with Group Tax.
- Report on monthly cashflow in line with accounting Standards.
- Produce Treasury reports on a monthly basis.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff.
- Responsible for Daily cashflow forecasting of the business units and the group, ensuring that working capital funds are sufficient to meet business needs and reviewing and authorising all bank payments.
You ideally will have / be :
6+ years accounting or financial management experience within a complex, multi-entity, multi territory environment.5+ years in senior leadership roles with business partnering at executive and board level.Chartered Accountant (member of NZICA, CPA or international equivalent) with at least four years PQE, preferably with Big 4 experience.Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or commercial.Good technical knowledge of taxation.Strong consolidation and statutory reporting experience.A strong repertoire of analytical techniques, particularly with regards to revenue, gross margin, yields, operating efficiency and non-financial measures.Demonstrated financial acumen and a sound understanding of complex commercial environments and contracts with a focus on profitability.Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.An understanding of the global aviation industry is preferred.Ability to lead and gain confidence of others.Self-starter and confidence in navigating the unknown.Highly developed verbal, written and presentation skills.What we can offer you :
