Job Summary
The Routing Planner is responsible for planning and optimizing daily delivery routes to ensure timely, cost-efficient, and customer-focused distribution across Malaysia. This role involves coordinating with warehouse, transport providers, and customer service teams to align delivery priorities and ensure smooth last-mile operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily delivery routes based on customer orders, locations, and time
constraints.
Assign delivery trips to internal fleet or third-party logistics provides as needed.Monitor and adjust routes for efficiency, traffic conditions, and urgent orders.Collaborate with warehouse team to ensure orders are ready and prioritized per delivery plan.Communicate delivery instructions clearly to drivers or partners.Track delivery progress and resolve routing issues or delays.Analyze route data and cost per trip to improve route design and fleet utilization.Prepare delivery schedules, route maps, and performance reports for internal stakeholders.Maintain records of delivery schedules, incidents, and route feedback.Coordinate with customer service and sales teams to support special delivery requirements or service recovery.Maintain and update a centralized database of all delivery truck drivers and their assistants, including contact details, assignments, and performance records.Track and monitor key delivery KPIs such as on-time delivery rate, delivery cost per trip, and vehicle utilization.Create and update daily, weekly, and monthly transportation performance reports.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related field.Minimum 1–3 years of experience in route planning, transport scheduling, or logistics coordination.Experience with delivery route planning software or GPS-based optimization tools.Good geographical knowledge of Peninsular Malaysia.Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with logistics tools such as WMS, TMS, or fleet management systems is an advantage.Able to communicate in English, both written and spoken.Skills Required
