Job description

What you'll be doing?

  • Maintain accurate accounts : Ensure the full set of accounts is maintained accurately and in a timely manner, contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
  • Analyze financial reports : Utilize your strong analytical skills to identify and explain variances in financial reporting, providing valuable insights for decision-making.
  • Manage bank reconciliations : Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, ensuring all outstanding items are resolved promptly to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Oversee fixed assets : Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring all company assets are accurately accounted for and recorded.
  • Handle tax computations : Prepare tax computations for the company and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Perform reconciliations : Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, including creditors and intercompany balances, to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders : Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and internal departments to meet crucial deadlines and ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Support audits and inspections : Ensure all source documents are complete and readily available for audits or tax inspections, providing expert responses to accounting and tax-related queries.
  • Manage creditor statements : Monitor creditors' statements and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items to maintain positive vendor relationships.

Who are they looking for?

  • Professional qualification : Pursuing a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent, demonstrating your commitment to continuous learning in the field.
  • Relevant experience : Ideally, 3 to 4 years of experience in a commercial environment, preferably in logistics, retail, or FMCG industries. However, candidates with no prior experience are welcomed to apply if they possess the necessary skills and enthusiasm.
  • Excel proficiency : Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, and Access, to efficiently manage and analyze financial data.
  • Proactive problem-solver : A quick learner with a proactive and resourceful approach to tackling challenges and finding innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication : Strong interpersonal and analytical skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and present financial information clearly.
  • Language skills : Proficiency in Malay and English is required, with Mandarin / Chinese being an added advantage, particularly for liaising with China customers and expanding business relationships.
