Our client is a reputable data centre provider operating over 50 data centres worldwide. They are now expanding into the Southeast Asia and looking to hire a Project Director who will supervise the construction of their first project in the region, located in Johor Bahru.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead new and existing development projects. Build project controls, delivery plans, project approach and methodology aligned to Delivery Playbook while taking local market norms into consideration.
• Ensure compliance with standard delivery best practice, project governance & Stage‑gate approvals, utilizing our Project Delivery Tools and Technology Platform.
• Provide support, direction and leadership to active project team members both within the Delivery team and related departments.
• Manage General Contractors, Suppliers, Vendors and Consultants from award through to completion, ensuring delivery aligned to key project goals and requirements.
• Maintain and manage cost control and change control processes to ensure project cost control throughout with all contractors and vendors.
• Develop and maintain project schedules / programmes, identifying key critical‑path activities, managing & agreeing programmes with all parties and monitoring with regular updates.
• Identify, track and report all key risks affecting the project, develop and implement mitigation plans.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with consultants, contractors and supply vendors in market.
• Be client‑facing, interacting with local client teams, developing tailored solutions aligned to their requirements, structured regular reporting cadence on project deliverables, progress, safety & cost as relevant.
• Be passionate about the Data Center industry and an innovator, always looking to bring the forefront of technology into our projects to achieve and exceed our sustainability, safety & efficiency goals.
