Overview ASIA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL is seeking to hire a

IGCSE & KS3 Humanities Teacher

with experience of working in a secondary Cambridge / IGCSE syllabus international school for commencement

Jan 2026 . Reporting to :

Head of Department .

Key Responsibilities

General

Follow the policies and practices reflecting the school’s commitment to high achievement, amazing learning and effective feedback.

Establish the importance and role of Humanities in pupils’ development and preparation for opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of the modern world.

Use data to identify underachieving pupils and create / implement action plans to support them.

Work effectively as a Form Tutor as part of a designated Year Team.

Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all pupils, including high-ability and those with special educational or linguistic needs.

Develop pupils’ literacy, numeracy and information technology skills through the subject.

Set high expectations for pupil progress and achievement.

Develop pupils’ independent study skills and collaboration both in and out of school.

Engage with parents and carers to involve them in their child’s learning and provide information about curriculum, attainment, progress and targets.

Communication, marketing and PR

Ensure professional communication between colleagues, parents and students.

Publicise and celebrate achievements and assist with school events and open evenings.

Contribute to marketing activities for Asia Pacific International School.

Other Expectations

Participate in the school’s performance appraisal scheme and undertake other reasonable duties as required.

Adhere to safeguarding, race equality, equal opportunities, code of conduct and health & safety policies.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Possess a relevant bachelor’s degree in education or a bachelor’s degree with a postgraduate teaching qualification.

Minimum three (3) years’ full-time teaching experience in Humanities in an international school.

Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills.

Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
