Senior Accountant

Staff Accountant II – Marsh McLennan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Regional Accounting team at Marsh McLennan. This hybrid role requires working at least three days a week in the office.

Overview

As a Staff Accountant II, you will be a key contributor to our regional accounting operation, supporting day‑to‑day accounting functions, reporting, and internal control processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day‑to‑day accounting functions and processes, including reporting of financial information.
• Prepare journal entries, validate billing and revenue accruals as part of SOX testing, and produce administrative system accounting reports and consolidated statements.
• Analyze and maintain general ledger accounts and client insured records.
• Analyze various accounting reports, including variances to forecast, budget, and prior year.
• Coordinate revenue and expense accruals to ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close.
• Perform variation and trend analysis for key general ledger accounts or reports, such as applying funds to insured records, processing refunds, and requesting payments to carriers and third parties.
• Present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and documentation of internal and external accounting and operating policies, procedures, and process improvements.
• Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information, provide guidance, advise, and train junior / less experienced accountants.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, carrier agreements, SOX procedures, tax regulations, local GAAP, US GAAP, and local statutory regulations.
