Maintenance cum Driver

Overview

GreenAcres is Malaysia’s award-winning retirement village that provides safe, comfortable, and vibrant living for seniors. We’re looking for a hands-on team player who takes pride in keeping our environment safe, well-maintained, and resident-friendly.

Role Summary

You will split your time between (1) day-to-day preventive & corrective maintenance of buildings, villas, and equipment, and (2) safe, courteous driving for residents and operational needs (shuttle runs, appointments, supplies). You’ll be part of a small team that values reliability, empathy, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance

Perform routine preventive maintenance (lighting, plumbing fixtures, basic HVAC, door / lock, minor carpentry / painting).

Attend to work orders and corrective repairs; escalate specialized jobs to contractors.

Conduct safety checks (fire extinguishers, exit lights, emergency call systems) and keep logs updated.

Set up hall / venues for activities and events (furniture, AV, decorations).

Assist with vendor / contractor coordination and site visit.

Maintain tools, stores, and spare parts inventory; keep workshops neat and safe.

Driving & Logistics (approx. 30–40%)

Safely drive residents in village vehicles (van) for shuttle trips, and errands.

Manage vehicle cleanliness, fuelling, basic checks (tyres, fluids), and service schedules.

Support pick-ups / deliveries.

Safety, Service & Administration

Uphold resident dignity and confidentiality; provide polite, patient assistance.

Follow SOPs, Health & Safety practices.

Complete checklists, work orders, and basic incident / maintenance reports.

Requirements

Driving licence : Class D (manual) required; GDL is an advantage. Clean driving record.

Experience : 1–3 years in building / facilities maintenance or similar handyman role; hospitality / healthcare / retirement setting is a plus.

Skills : Basic electrical / plumbing / painting; able to use hand tools safely.

Education / Certs : SPM; SKM Level 2 / 3 (Facility Maintenance / Mechanical / Electrical) preferred.

Personal qualities : Responsible, punctual, calm under pressure, respectful with seniors, good Malay / English communication.

Physical : Able to lift up to ~20 kg, work on ladders, and do outdoor tasks.

6 days roster (Monday - Saturday); occasional on-call for emergencies.

Uniform provided, training opportunities, annual leave, medical benefits (per company policy).

Salary : ( RM1,700 – RM2,300 monthly, commensurate with experience.)
