Job Summary
Join a dynamic engineering team as a Lead Mechanical Designer working on complex, high-performance data centre and mission-critical projects. This is a hands-on technical role focused on delivering efficient, compliant, and innovative mechanical designs—from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed mechanical system designs (HVAC, chilled water, fire suppression, CRAC units) in line with client and project requirements
Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety codes, and technical standards
Lead system calculations, simulations, and BIM clash detection for mechanical components
Collaborate with project engineers, architects, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications
Champion energy efficiency and sustainable design practices
Stay current with MEP design best practices and construction sequencing methods
Support BIM model coordination in line with ISO 19650 standards
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3–5 years’ experience in mechanical design, preferably in data centres or MEP-heavy projects
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and CFD tools
Familiar with BIM coordination and clash detection workflows
Hands-on understanding of mechanical materials, equipment, and installation sequencing
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; able to work in a multi-cultural team
Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
