Job descriptionMinimum Diploma in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field. Experience in furniture / public seating design or manufacturing is an advantage. Basic knowledge of materials (metal, wood, plastics, upholstery) and fabrication processes. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) is an added advantage. Innovative mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a team and manage tasks effectively. Good communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in researching and developing new designs, concepts, and prototypes for public seating (benches, chairs, waiting area seating, etc.).
- Evaluate and test new materials, finishes, and production methods for durability, comfort, and cost efficiency.
- Improve existing product designs to enhance strength, ergonomics, and aesthetic value.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure designs can be manufactured effectively and within budget.
- Ensure all products comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Support in analyzing market trends and customer needs to propose innovative solutions.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for new and improved products.
- Collaborate with suppliers, engineers, and quality assurance teams on materials and product development.
- Participate in product testing (e.g., load testing, wear-and-tear testing) and report findings.
