Job Overview

STATS Group is seeking a Field / Workshop Technician to support our operations in Kuala Lumpur. The role involves surveying, disassembling, repairing, evaluating, supporting, assembling, and testing various tools, services, and equipment at onshore, offshore, and client locations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Main Responsibilities

  • Survey, disassemble, repair, evaluate, support, assemble, and test STATS tools and equipment at various locations.
  • Operate tools safely while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Act as a main point of contact for clients both offshore and onshore.
  • Travel to onshore and offshore sites within Malaysia and internationally as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Report defects and ensure documentation and drawings are up-to-date.
  • Propose and implement new techniques to improve productivity and safety.
  • Maintain material certifications and inspection equipment.
  • Support other departments and participate in internal training.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Mechanical trade qualification with experience in oilfield equipment assembly and pressure testing.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work offshore and internationally on an ad hoc basis.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate oneself and others.
  • Living and working in Malaysia is required.
