Software Engineering Specialist - Human Data

Overview

xAI’s mission is to create AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. The Software Engineering Specialist – Human Data role involves building data to support the training of large language models. You will collaborate with technical staff to contribute to datasets for model training, benchmarking, and overall advancement. The Software Engineering Specialist - Human Data role is a full-time remote position. Part-time may be offered on a case-by-case basis, but full-time is strongly preferred. Responsibilities

Evaluate and refine AI-generated code, ensuring it adheres to industry standards for efficiency, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance AI-driven coding solutions, ensuring they meet enterprise-level quality and performance benchmarks. Key Qualifications

Advanced proficiency in English, both verbal and written. A minimum of 2 years of hands-on industry experience in software development and / or public proof of work (e.g., on GitHub). Extensive experience with tools and systems such as Databases, SQL, Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, gRPC, and AWS. Preferred Qualifications

Adaptable, with strong logical reasoning, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Contributions to open source projects or evidenced strong performance in programming contexts (e.g., Stack Overflow reputation, programming competitions). Enthusiasm to collaboratively build high-quality AI systems focused on truth-seeking. Additional Requirements

Ability to learn quickly, adapt to dynamic environments, and unlearn outdated techniques as needed. For remote workers using a personal device, device should support Windows 10 or macOS Big Sur 11.0 or later. Location, Hours, and Other Expectations

Fully remote position. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship. If you are based in the US, Wyoming and Illinois are currently excluded from hiring. You must own and have reliable access to a smartphone. Application should indicate interest in either full-time or part-time; details follow : Full-Time (40 hours / week) : 9 : 00–17 : 30 in your local time zone; onboarding week may be 9 : 00–17 : 30 PST. Part-Time (20–29 hours / week) : Hours are flexible but require a minimum of 20 hours per week (at least 10 on weekdays). Compensation and Benefits

Pay range may be $50 / hour – $75 / hour, determined case-by-case based on job-related knowledge, education, and experience.
