Head, Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing (Malaysia)
Job Summary
Responsible for driving and delivering the Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing (CABM) strategies for Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia (SCBM), Standard Chartered Bank Saadiq Malaysia (SCSM) and Global Business Services Malaysia (GBSM), ensuring consistent and aligned delivery with the global agendas. Lead the CABM team in Malaysia to identify opportunities and bring expertise and creativity at both strategic and execution levels within agreed budget and scorecard, fully accountable to the Malaysia CEO and Client Business Heads, provide thought leadership, transform the region and in‑country marketing function and manage strategic deliverables such as marketing, brand, communications, digital marketing, corporate events, sponsorship and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop understanding of market opportunities, implement strategies and deliver business objectives aligned with corporate plan and Group CABM strategy.
- Contribute to overall CABM visions / priorities.
- Work with country / cluster heads and management teams to manage key projects and strategy changes across the Bank.
- Engage with regional peers and other sectors.
- Deliver an integrated communications and marketing strategy that drives business strategy and brand promise across Malaysia.
- Execute consistent marketing campaigns across CIB, WRB segments, ensuring partnership with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Cluster CABM Head SG / ASEAN and regional CIB Marketing team to optimise budgets and timelines.
- Partner with WRB Head in Malaysia to manage the WRB Marketing budget and deliver on campaigns.
- Grow wealth and affluent brand awareness and consideration through targeted campaigns.
- Strategise and deliver quality marketing activities targeting optimal media assets and platforms.
- Strategise and deliver sponsorship and community investment initiatives to augment bank presence.
- Develop team capabilities, set culture and values, establish tone and expectations, collaborate with risk and control partners.
- Ensure ongoing development of people and retention with succession planning.
- Provide leadership on risk management, reputational and operational, ensuring proactive identification, mitigation and timely reporting.
- Lead crisis communications and coordinate issues across country functions.
- Manage resources for CABM communications and marketing plans.
