Job description

Nationality : Prefer Malaysian Chinese, but can share resume as well for Malaysian Indian, will let Hiring Manager review first.

Location : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Working Hours : 9 : 30 AM - 6 : 30 PM (GMT +8)

Salary Range : USD $1,050 - $1,900 / month (approx. RM5,000 - RM9,000)

The essentials of the role :

  • Build, administer, monitor, and manage colocation servers and cloud servers.
  • Implement automation for testing, deployment, and configuration.
  • Manage and maintain monitoring stack.
  • Maintain and update documentation.
  • Passionate individuals with strong logical thinking are encouraged to apply.
  • Manage and monitor Junior DevOps Team.
  • Consult developers for project deployment improvements if needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have :

  • Some working knowledge of Linux or Unix (at least 2-3 years of experience, especially on RedHat / Fedora / CentOS / Debian / Ubuntu / Rocky Linux and Amazon Linux 2).
  • Fundamentals of networking, firewall, and experience with network switches, routers, and bare metal servers (especially PowerEdge series).
  • Understanding of Git and experience with GitHub and GitLab.
  • Comfortable with Bash, Python, or Golang for scripting.
  • 2-3 years of experience with Apache & Nginx.
  • Experience with deployment of Python, PHP, NodeJS, Laravel, and ReactJS, including infrastructure involving load balancers.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, web servers, application servers, databases, routers / switches.
  • 1-2 years of Docker containerization experience, including deployment, tagging images, and changing ports.
  • 2-3 years of virtualization knowledge, including VM backup, export, and import.
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills to debug production and deployment issues.
  • 2-3 years of experience with Zabbix and Grafana, including server deployment and data source configuration.
  • Preferably, 2 years of experience working with AWS, especially on :
  • EC2
  • RDS
  • VPC
  • S3 Bucket
  • CloudFront
  • ECS
  • IAM
  • CloudWatch
