JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The QS will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes cost planning, budgeting, contract administration, procurement, and cost control to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
As a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor, you will liaise with clients, subcontractors, site teams, and the design team to ensure accurate forecasting and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
( Key Responsibilities )
Pre-Contract Duties :
- Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates and feasibility studies.
- Analyze drawings and specifications to prepare accurate tender documents.
- Assist in procurement strategy and preparation of tender packages.
- Conduct risk, value management, and cost control exercise.
Post-Contract Duties :
Monitor projects budgets and keep track of variations and cost implications.Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuation and final accounts.Evaluate subcontractor quotation, certify payments, and manage subcontractor accounts.Handle claims, variations and change order efficiently.Provide timely cost reports and financial forecast to senior management.Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.General :
Attend project meetings and collaborate with the site team, project managers, and external stakeholders.Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.Maintain proper documentation and contractual records.Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.( Qualification and Experience )
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of QS experience, preferably with a main contractor.Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (eg : FIDIC, JCT, NEC)Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software (eg; CostX, Candy, BuildSoft)Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple task.( Desirable Skills )
Professional membership (eg; RICS, CIOB, AIQS) is an advantage.Experiences with high-rise, infrastructure, or commercial projects.Strong Interpersonal and communication skills.( Working Condition )
Based on-site / or head office depending on projects stage.Occasional travel to projects sited may be required.Working hours : 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday.( Recruitment Package )
