About the Role

Taylor's International School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Curriculum Support Teacher (Special Educational Needs & Interventions) to join our team. This role plays a key part in our commitment to inclusive education, ensuring every student with additional needs receives the right support to thrive.

You will work closely with the Head of Curriculum Support to provide tailored interventions, both in small groups and mainstream classrooms. The ideal candidate is proactive, empathetic, flexible, and has a strong understanding of special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons and interventions (e.g., literacy support).
  • Support students on the SEND register, managing a caseload and maintaining accurate records.
  • Liaise with parents and external professionals (e.g., therapists, psychologists).
  • Contribute to differentiated schemes of work across subject areas.
  • Supervise guided reading sessions and literacy interventions.
  • Organise enrichment activities and support students during school trips.
  • Provide input for Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and exam access arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, behaviour management, and inclusion policies.
  • Stay updated with current SEN best practices and integrate them into teaching.

Requirements

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Specialist SEN training / qualification (highly desirable).
  • Proven experience working with children with diverse learning needs.
  • Experience delivering targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD, ASD).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
