What Role You Will Play In The Team
We are expanding our manufacturing process control organization and looking for plant information engineers who enjoy working in dynamic, collaborative and diverse global teams to provide support to ExxonMobil manufacturing sites, such as business data workflow, data processing and accessibility.
Currently, we have an opportunity for an entry level Manufacturing Digital Solutions Engineer to join our global team. The role is based in Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur.
What You Will Do
If successful, you will represent the Business Unit in providing effective above-site manufacturing digital and data optimisation support. You will be part of the team which leverages central work processes and tools in place to certify manufacturing data reliability and accuracy and to identify continuous improvement to increase effectiveness and efficiency. You will have the opportunity to grow your technical skills while providing essential digital and data optimisation support for manufacturing sites. Developing a strong relationship with site stakeholders and committing yourself to the business outcomes through quality work deliverables will be key.
Key Deliverables
- Provide L3 and L4 Uniformance operations support to Manufacturing Sites, including PHD, DV (XHQ), Business Applications and other plant computing related technologies; ongoing work processes, upgrades and projects for refineries and chemical plants.
- Optimize Uniformance tool and features (including reporting) for Business teams’ day‑to‑day decision‑making process.
- Digitalise Manufacturing Environment (wireless technologies, electronic logbooks, etc.) by working closely with Manufacturing Engineering Division for digital opportunities including consultancy, requirements gathering, testing, rollout and sustenance.
- Application consultancy and support across a broad portfolio of applications spanning a variety of platforms and technologies at site (desktop, client‑server, enterprise applications).
- Data Visualisation – Work with Business Teams across Refinery and Chemical locations to identify and define how data visualisation can deliver business value and define / deliver appropriate solutions.
- Partner with Business and Key Contacts – Primary interface for remote engineering support with manufacturing Site Engineers / Site Single Point of contact to meet site business teams priorities and opportunities. Define and implement initiatives, upgrades and sustenance. Act as key interface between technical (EMIT) IT personnel and Business Lines.
- Establish yourself as an extended member of the site Process Control team and proactively contribute to work‑planning and prioritisation discussions.
- Collaborate with Application Engineers to ensure applications utilisation within scope of responsibility are operating at optimum level.
- Maintain strong working relationship with Manufacturing Control Systems on technology roadmap, upgrades, enhancements, or initiatives involving equipment and / or systems relating to Uniformance system.
- Interface with and provides input to Global Network and Supervisor on issues and opportunities.
About You – Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology.Experience with database management (SQL), MS Excel macros and other digital related work deliverables (data visualisation, data analytics and automation). Please provide relevant description of the project / deliverables.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers.Troubleshooting skills, innovative and analytical thinking.Intellectual rigor, strong drive and desire to lead change.Ability to work in a multi‑cultural global team.Understanding of operational aspects such as high availability, monitoring, security and robustness.Seniority Level
